When you mention Meizu most people wont even know what phone your talk about unless you are a MIUI fan. A little history, Meizu know to make some crazy high-end hardware phone running MIUI with the their own skin called Flyme OS. But they only sell their phones in China not in the USA unless you want to import which some people do. Now the next Meizu is here, a Meizu MX Quad-core is now coming out of China in June. It was announced last night claiming that it is the world’s first to sport the new Exynos 4412 processor by Samsung and will be out by June, we were interested. The phone hardware sounds awesome with a f/2.2 8MP camera, 292ppi display, and Android 4.0, however, the processor is what so interesting. How can Meizu MX is going to be the first to use Exynos 4412 phone and not one from Samsung? Shouldn’t this be the chipset inside the Galaxy SIII?

As of today, we know that Samsung is going to unveil their next Galaxy device on May 3, one that is likely to be theGalaxy SIII. If this Meizu MX phone is going to be the “first” with this processor then that leaves us with a couple of scenarios. First, the Galaxy SIII will be announced in early May, but won’t be released until late June or July with the 4412 inside possibly. Second, the Meizu team is lying and won’t be first. Third, the SGS3 will sport a different processor altogether.

We have heard rumors that this phone may end up with something beyond the Exynos 4412 and into Exynos 5 (cortex A15) territory. Knowing Samsung and the way they pushed the smartphone envelope last year with the Galaxy SII, I don’t think we will be surprised if they do release this phone with something awesome.

Does your phone not have led notification but you wish it did

Well you might just be in luck. Most Android use use ringtones and vibration, certain people out there like to be notified of this in a somewhat different manner. A member over XDA created an app FlashBlink which cause your camera flash LED to blink when you have an incoming call.

The application is also capable of acting as a torch by toggling the flash on and off at will. This function is activated by opening the app which will also display an analogue desk clock on your Android phone. This prevent the app opening in a dark room full of people or when you don't want to.

Currently developer states that FlashBlink is currently not compatible with Android 4.0. But report varies. Check the link for download.

Since we saw Android 4.0 unveiled in Hong Kong last October, we have been waiting…

Since we saw Android 4.0 unveiled in Hong Kong last October, we have been waiting patiently for Google Voice integration into the dialer or contacts. This is something that is need for a long time. Apps like Talkatone or GroveIP have keep us satisfied but makes us want more. Well the wait is over. Once you update to the latest version in the Play Store, you can flag the “Voicemail display” box in GV Settings to turn your dialer into an instant voicemail center.

As you can see in the photos below, your dialer will then attach to your contacts that have left you messages in Google Voice, giving you the ability to play voicemails without having to enter the GV app. From this new voicemail screen, you can slow down or speed up messages, delete them, and call or text the person. The app itself has also been skinned to match ICS styling while allowing for much swifter navigation.

With this big step we will not need visual voice mail apps that you have to pay from the carriers to use. Along with getting rid of visual voice mail, we could see a change in a way that people dump their voice plan and use data only plan with this new integration of Google Voice. Carrier have talk about that we will need data only plan in the future and Google voice I think will be the first step to this big crossover.
